Chitomax
ChitoMax is a natural product made from prawn extract (chitin). Depending on the crop, it may be administered at the beginning or throughout the crop’s life cycle.
ChitoMax boosts the immune system of plants by activating SAR (Systemic Acquired Resistance) in plants, which has the impact of stimulating root development, enhancing germination and emergence, enhancing defence against microbial infections, etc.
ChitoMax, when applied to seeds, causes significant metabolic changes that improve the seed’s ability to germinate and to protect itself from fungus and disease throughout crop establishment. The active ingredient in ChitoMax, chitosan, is a strong SAR elicitor. As a result, specific genes are activated, resulting in the transcription of phytoalexins, quitinases, suberine, lignine, and other components of the plant defence system. Additionally, endogenous growth hormones and anti-stress proteins are produced.
A Phytosanitary Product of Natural Biological Origin, ChitoMax is used to control diseases like Verticilium, Phytophtora, Fusarium, Phytium, Botrytis, and others as well as to stimulate plant growth at the root.
ChitoMax is an organic and natural way to lessen the prevalence of phytoparasitic nematodes.
ChitoMax offers protection from aerial diseases that damage plants and fruits, has fungistatic properties, acts as a barrier against fungus attacks like botrytis, and enhances the quality of fruits.
In conclusion, ChitoMax functions as a biostimulant, a biofungicide, a bionematicide, and a protector against aerial illnesses.
Because it strengthens their antagonistic capabilities and aids in the establishment and/or proliferation of biological products (such as Trichoderms, Entomopathogenic fungus, Entomopathogenic nematodes, Paecilomyces lilacinum, etc.), ChitoMax is also utilised in combination with biological products.
ChitoMax functions
- ChitoMax is sprayed onto the plant's leaves and trunk. The product can also be sprayed or drip-applied to the soil.
- It creates a nourishing layer and serves as a natural barrier against outside agents thanks to its excellent adhesion properties.
- ChitoMax is taken by the plants and increases their strength because the molecule stays attached to them for a long time.
Benefits:
- Increases yield
- increases plant root mass, and provides defence against disease attack.
- Shortens the time needed for growth – Aids in preventing disease (microbial: bacterial, viral, and fungal) – Strengthens the plant
- Induces phytoalexin and chitin enzymes or SAR
Note:
It’s vital to note that ChitoMax shouldn’t be used in place of regular fertilisers; rather, it should be used in conjunction with them. However, it has been shown that using ChitoMax may result in less use of fertilisers and insecticides.

Vegetables are currently advised to be used in a combination of the following treatments: Root bathing at the time of sowing or transplanting, using a 10% diluted product; irrigation and foliar spraying during the growing season, using a minimum of five applications of three litres per hectare.
