Trichoderma viride- A fungus with bio fungicidal properties. Protector – contains highly potent spores of trichoderma viride produced using CEPT technology. It is effective in controlling both seed and soil borne plant pathogens. Trichoderma viride acts as a fungicide through a combination of mechanisms: it directly attacks pathogenic fungi by producing lytic enzymes that degrade their cell walls (mycoparasitism), outcompetes pathogens for nutrients and space (competition), produces antifungal compounds to inhibit their growth (antibiosis), enhances plant defense responses (induced resistance), Trichoderma viride plays a significant role in decomposing raw organic materials in soil by secreting enzymes such as cellulases and ligninases, hence it improves soil health and root development to reduce the impact of soil-borne diseases.
